Additional Support announced for Families in 2022

Dorchester Family Support welcomes the news that the Department of Education intends to provide funding to the local authority this year, meaning that in addition to the food parcels and hampers distributed by Dorchester Family Support every year, families in recipt of free school meals will receive extra help during the school holidays.

Any initiative that helps to tackle holiday hunger is always welcomed by Dorchester Family Support.

Kath Joslin from Dorchester Family Support said "Whilst we are pleased that the Government recognises the difficulties faced by many families during the school holidays, we are fully aware that this funding could be withdrawn at any point. We, at Dorchester Family Support, continue to remain committed to providing help each and every year to families in our locality, thanks to the generosity of our donors and willing volunteers."
